The RSI Constellation Aquila is the exploration variant of the Constellation. It features a redesigned cockpit for maximum visibility and also trades its upper turret for an advanced sensor suite. Its vehicle complement typically consists of a P-52 Merlin snubfighter for point defense (not currently launchable), and an onboard Ursa rover for planetary exploration. Please note that when accommodating an Ursa the Aquila forgoes the use of its cargo bay.
Like its sister Constellation variants the Aquila is not particularly agile but it features good forward-facing firepower and a large stock of missiles. It also has respectable quantum speed and operational range due to its Medium-class components. Internally the ship also features four bunks, a head, storage lockers, and a small dining area. Overall the Aquila offers a solid and flexible mid-sized alternative for explorer captains. Let’s see what’s out there!

Development
The original four variants for the Constellation were designed by David Hobbins and Gurmukh Bhasin. Once their work was complete, CGBot converted all four ships into CryEngine, with contributions by Dennia Aguilar (3D Artist), Chuy Alanis (Lead Artist), amongst others.[6] In February 2016 the Constellation got an additional revamp by Chris Smith (Lead Vehicle/Weapon Artist) and Josh Coons (3D Modeler).[7]
