Bad Blood is a top-view, post-apocalyptic action role-playing game from 1990 made by Chris Roberts for Origin Systems. It was Chris Roberts’s first game for MS-DOS.
it follows Times of Lore and was developed immediately before Wing Commander.
Development
After flirting for a while with the idea of doing a straightforward sequel to Times of Lore, he decided to adapt the engine to an even more action-oriented post-apocalyptic scenario.[1]
Gameplay
The gameplay is similar to Times of Lore, but with a clear action-oriented bent.
Reception
Bad Blood sold reasonably well, but wasn’t entirely well received. RPG gamers were notoriously disappointed that it wasn’t the traditional sword-and-sorcery role-playing title that Origin was then known for… and action gamers didn’t know to look for it in the first place.[2]
