A Corvette (UEEN Ship Class Designation: K)[1] is a military vessel designed for patrol, scout and escort duties. Therefore, this class is populated by either the smallest of what are termed capital ships or the biggest of the large ships. It is usually the smallest vessel commanded by an officer of the "captain" rank. Next larger class is a Frigate, smaller is a Patrol vessel.
