The 16-SCU container is a standardized[2] cargo container with a measure of 5 x 2.5 x 2.5 m[1] (L x W x H)[3] and an internal volume of 16 SCU (4 x 2 x 2 1-SCU crates). These containers are a means to bundle cargo and goods into larger, unitized loads, that can be easily handled, moved, and stacked, and that will pack tightly in a ship or yard.
