Early Life
When he was 13 years old his dad broke out a guitar and starting playing campfire-esque songs. Joshua thought: "I have to do that". He picked up the guitar at 13 and religiously played six hours a day. He became obsessed with it. he’d play it watching movies. he’d play it at the dinner table. There were times he’d fall asleep with the guitar in my hands.”[4]
When his father asked him to join the family’s web development business and give up on trying to make a career out of music, Joshua tried web development for a year but knew he wasn’t built for the work. So, when he told his father that he wanted to make a career in music work, he gave Joshua an ultimatum: Six months to show he can make money out of music, or he has to quit it. Joshua emailed 100 different companies after he found out that he could make money licensing his work and one of them got back to him. He took the money, showed his dad who said he could keep going. Several years later, his dad works with him, they don’t even do websites anymore. His father is his business manager.[4]
