Early Life
He first got into art through comic books in the 1970s. He was collecting John Buscema and the likes of Conan, Tarzan and the Hulk.[11]
In junior high Justin and a friend started to create their own role-playing game. They were playing D&D and that kind of thing and tended to draw their own characters.[11]
He was paiting banners and murals for restaurants and more by day while taking night art classes at a local college when he got a job at Interplay.[8]
Trivia
- He prefers to use oils, but mostly use the computer because most of his work is concept art for film.[12]
- His grandmother was a cell painter on Pinocchio, and some of her songs ended up in Fantasia.[8]
