Paul Ah-Thion was Senior Programmer at Cloud Imperium Games.[1]
Works at CIG
He joined CIG in 2018.[1]
Other Works
He worked on WipEout XL, WRC World Rally Championship, Eurofighter Typhoon: Operation Icebreaker, Rage Rally, WRC II Extreme, WRC 3: The Official Game of the FIA World Rally Championship, Formula 1: Championship Edition, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, Nike+ Kinect Training, InviZimals: The Lost Kingdom, Crackdown 3.[2]
As a programmer, he learned to make the machines draw pixels, then lines, triangles, circles, spheres and all the other shapes we see in computer games. But to do all this, he had to learn more and more about how light worked in the real world. Computers are only so fast and there's only so much that can be simulated, and he was left wanting to see more. So he bought a camera, and all that work he'd done understanding light & shadow & materials, it wasn't a simulation any more, it was real. Thus he became a photographer.[3]
Trivia
- His father's side of the family is from Seychelles, but the name is originally Chinese, with each generation coming up with their own way of spelling it.[3]
