Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues is a video game by Richard Garriott.
Richard Garriot is the creator of the Ultima series and one of the founders of Origin Systems, where Chris Roberts made a number of games.
Shroud of the Avatar lore makes references to Star Citizen such as the Cloud Imperium Sky Navy.[1] The Vanduul are an unknown race of supposedly starwalking creatures.[2]
Richard Garriott and Chris Roberts have discussed their games and more including in a Shroud of the Avatar Live Dev Cam.[3]
Star Citizen has special thanks in the game's credits.[4]
Cross Promotional Package
Star Citizen and Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues have created cross-promotional items for backers.[5] Shroud of the Avatar allowed to purchase limited edition items that also granted access to items in Star Citizen.[6][5]
Star Citizen inspired items within Shroud of the Avatar include the Vanduul polearm, the Aether Aeronaut Helmet and the Cloud Imperium Navy Airship.
Backing with at least an Adventurer ($45) to Shroud of the Avatar and $40 to Star Citizen awarded the player a Nova Crossbow in Star Citizen.[7][8]
Backing with at least Immortal Adventurer ($55) to Shroud of the Avatar awarded the player a Star Citizen themed Vanduul Polearm in Shroud of the Avatar.[9][10]
The Star Citizen Aeronaut Helmet Starter Bundle included game access to both Shroud of the Avatar and Star Citizen, as well as a Star Citizen Aether Aeronaut Helmet for Shroud of the Avatar and a Mustang Alpha for Star Citizen.[11][12]
The Star Citizen Airship City Home includes both the home in Shroud of the Avatar and a Cutlass Black for Star Citizen.[13][12]
