New United is one of the United Empire of Earth's oldest news organizations, having been founded in 2100 it had a reputation for being mostly objective with a slight conservative bias. It was originally named United Times which was later changed to United Times/Tribune in 2438 during a merger with Sentinel Tribune and was then shortened in 2638 to Times/Tribune. During the Messer Era they operated as a propaganda outfit and in an effort to distance themselves for the oppressive regime after it fell in 2792 they changed their name to New United. Which has lead to them regaining their reputation as an objective news source.
