The Anvil U9C Hawk is a civilian light fighter with an emphasis on weaponry. It boasts an impressive arsenal of lethal and non-lethal weapons. It also features a single prisoner pod in the rear, allowing the pilot to quickly subdue and capture single targets. The ship is commonly used by bounty hunters and local securities due to its specifications.Template:RSI
History
Project BRAWLER
The U9A Hawk was developed by Anvil Aerospace in 2935 as an attempt to secure the spacecraft production contract from UEE for project BRAWLER, a single-seat fighter oriented towards close-range dogfighting, logistics support and ground attack missions. The Anvil proposal was to develop a spacecraft that shares several expensive components used in their active Hornet lineup as they have a more limited budget compared to Aegis Dynamics' Bearcat. Both Hawk and Bearcat won the first-round bid and was enrolled in testing by 999th Test Squadron. The technically superior Bearcat struggled to accomplish the mission goals, the Hawk passed with flying colors. While the Bearcat was better at ranged engagements and more traditional dogfighting, Anvil’s design better matched the original specification. Ultimately, Anvil Aerospace earned the production contract for the project and delivered first production model in October 2938.Template:RSI
Civillization
Not long after the U9A Hawks' deployment in 2938, the Hawk saw limited adoption by the military as the ship is only suited to a specific set of mission types, but not to the modern realities of space warfare. While the Hawk did not have a strong military purpose, word of its performance quickly spread to the thriving Bounty Hunting community. In 2940, Anvil rolled out the civilian model U9C Hawk in private Hawk sales after a military oversight panel confirmed Anvil’s ability to provide the design to the public. Unlike the military model, the U9C Hawk has several additions, including EMP weaponry and a containment pod capable of safely storing a second passenger. As the result of the massive increase in bounty licenses in 2940, the so-called ‘gold rush’ hunters are lured by the high payouts and romanticized media attention given the career around this time, purchased Hawks in droves.Template:RSI
