Brendan Jackson

Brendan Jackson was one of the very first programmers to work on Star Citizen.[1]

Works at CIG

Brendan Jackson was responsible for graphics programming, working out how to do the new effects to add to the game. Making sure we can run at an acceptable framerate.[2][1]

He worked at Cloud Imperium Games from 2013 to 2014.[3]

Other Works

His first started in the games industry in 1997 as a tools programmer at Beyond Reality. He then went to Virgin Interactive followed by 2015. He was part of Midway’s Core Technology Group. Like a number of early CIG devs, he worked at Lightbox Interactive.[1]

He worked on over 12 projects including Star Citizen, of which 5 have not seen the light of day. The six that were released or announced were, in reverse order, Star Citizen, Starhawk for PS3, iSkyDive for iPhone, Pirates Vs. Ninjas for Wii, Men of Valor for PC & Xbox and European Super League for PC and PSOne.[1]

After CIG, he went on to work at Apple, then at Amazon.[3]

Trivia

  • He's most looking forward to the economics model and the space combat. He really enjoyed Elite, one of the games that inspired Wing Commander and Privateer, back before he worked in games and he's excited to see that style of play again. [1]
  • He likes god games.[1]
