Reconnaissance or Exploration ships are ships designed for long range voyages with the purpose of gaining information. They tend to have extremely long range, good sensors and are usually designed to work without support for long periods of time. Exploration ships usually make good scout, corsair and patrol ships, depending on their sensors and armament.
