Model History

Mark I

The Mark I Constellation had a two-person cockpit, and no snub ship. An example of this vessel is the Plumetail.[8][9]

2918 Model

The 2918 Model is regarded as a poor model, and a rare misstep for the company. This model did come equipped with a P-52 Merlin. The Harlequin in an example of a 2918 model.[10] This may be synonymous with a 'Mark II' Constellation, but this is only a speculation based on the date and description.

Mark III

Mark III Constellations were in production by 2934 at the latest, and considered standard in 2942.[8] The Constellation Phoenix concept was originally based on a Mark III Constellation.[11]

Mark IV

Mark IV Constellations were planned for release in 2942, but this was later pushed back to 2944.[11] While they did launch for sale that year, the vessels were branded as the 2945 Constellation variants.[12][13][14][15]

Development

The original four variants for the Constellation were designed by David Hobbins and Gurmukh Bhasin. Once their work was complete, CGBot converted all four ships into CryEngine, with contributions by Dennia Aguilar (3D Artist), Chuy Alanis (Lead Artist), amongst others.[16] In February 2016 the Constellation got an additional revamp by Chris Smith (Lead Vehicle/Weapon Artist) and Josh Coons (3D Modeler).[17]

The Constellation Phoenix went through a rework since its release in the Hangar module, and it was released in Star Citizen Alpha 3.3.0.[18]
