Port Olisar was located in the trade lanes above the planet Crusader and offered a breathtaking view of the planet below. Owned and operated by Crusader Industries, Port Olisar acted as a gateway to the company's vast planetary holdings and orbital shipyards. The station offered accommodations to everyone, from visiting executives to pilots traveling through the system. Port Olisar also featured parking options for larger-scale ships with complimentary shuttles to the surface below. [citation needed]

Port Olisar's habitable area consisted of four identical struts (A through D), each of which had 11 landing pads (00 through 10). With four stores being Casaba Outlet, Dumper's Depot, Garrity Defense and Live Fire Weapons.

In 2953 it was decommissioned and replaced by Seraphim Station, a more ample entry port with cargo installations to accommodate the trade from and to Crusader.

Development

The station was first debuted in the Multicrew Demo as "Cellin Station", with a very different internal layout featuring larger player rooms with windows. Port Olisar was introduced to the players in Alpha 2.0.0 as the initial spawn location. Since then, the station has gone through several iterations.

The player spawns by default in one of Port Olisar's many living quarters as long as they do not land at any other landing zone (i.e GrimHEX, Lorville, or Area18) as of Alpha 3.6. The area around Port Olisar is an "Armistice Zone" meaning that all weapons will be on lock-down in that safety zone to prevent any disagreements or unpleasantness.[1] Since the release from 3.0, Port Olisar is the current main HUB to sell goods for the highest prices. In 3.1 the "00" platform was expanded and the access changed to accommodate bigger ships like the Aegis Reclaimer.

In Alpha 3.15.0, Port Olisar's position was lowered, moving it closer to Crusader and placing it permanently above the Orison landing zone to put it in line with all the other trade ports in the Stanton system. This patch also put the station in a proper geostationary orbit, making it rotate along with the planet itself which made it finally experience sunsets and sunrises. Before this, Port Olisar was always in a fixed position.

The station was replaced in Alpha 3.20.0 by Seraphim Station in order to take advantage of the modular station building blocks used for all other R&R space stations in the game. Port Olisar will return at some point in the future, as the developers recognize its significance to the player community.[2]
