The F7X Hornet is a military variant of the F7 Hornet used by Cal Mason of 42nd Squadron. It is manufactured by Anvil Aerospace.[1]

Features

Weapons
The F7X Hornet maintains a powerful yet slightly smaller loadout of its standard F7A progenitor, boasting four Size 3 FL-33 Laser Cannons on turrets and two wing mounted Size 3 Mantis Gatling Guns.
Additional wings
This variant of the Hornet has two inset wings in the middle of each main wing. The main wings maintain their sweep-wing variable geometry which is used when quantum-boosting.
Twin main thrusters
Rather than the standard single engine design of the Hornet, this variant has two smaller indepdently articulated engines.

Name

F7X marking identified in SQ42 demo

In the demo the "F7X" designation is present on the fighter and can be found on the fighter's hull in front of both dorsal-rear maneuvering thrusters. The F7X was erroneously named the Hornet F7CR_A by the holotable aboard the UEES Krugeri, which in the same shot misidentifies an F8 flown by M. Stalford as an Aegis Retaliator as well as visually misidentifying all other F8s of the flight as F7As. The "Mark" of the F7X flown by Cal is not known.[1]

John Crewe later officially confirmed during Intergalactic Aerospace Expo 2954 that the ship is named the "F7X", but made no mention of an applicable "Mark".[2]
