The Aegis Idris-P is the mark two "peacekeeper" variant of the Idris frigate developed for the UEE patrol services. The Idris-P strips the standard ship's ship-to-ship gun and spinal mount in favor of additional cargo capacity and superior speed.[1][2]

In 2943, the UEE Exploratory Services retired 150 Idris-P which have seen hard service on the frontier. The ships were put on sale with funds received going towards the Synthworld project.[3]

Militia units have adopted the Idris, in its lighter Idris-P variety. The Idris-P patrol design is available in limited quantities on the civilian market, and it continues to rehabilitate Aegis’ reputation, having become something of a luxury item. Idris captaincy is considered a prestigious position and Citizens frequently compete to purchase the limited number of civilian craft the company can produce.[2]

The original Idris corvette is designed by Ryan Church (Freelance Concept Artist) in 2013 along with other contributors include Chris Olivia (Chief Visual Officer), Ben Lesnick (Community Manager), Dave Haddock (Lead Writer), Rob Irving (Lead Designer), Chris Smith (Lead Vehicle Artist), Pete Mackay (Designer), and Chris Roberts.[4] The ship was announced in June 2013.

In 2014-03, the team from CGBot whiteboxing the flight deck interior found that the original concept was not sized to fit with the Hornet model as the original concept used the smaller Hornet model from the 2012 cinematics. Since the Idris need to carry multiple Hornets, the ship was upscaled to a frigate.[5][6] The rework was handled by the Foundry 42 UK team, with contribution from Mike Northeast (F42 Senior Designer), Mark Skelton (CIG Art Director), Paul Jones (F42 Art Director), Stuart Jennett (F42 Concept Artist), Bjorn Seinstra (Senior Artist), Tom Johnson (F42 Project Manager), and Chris Roberts.[6]
