The Esperia Glaive is a symmetrical version of the Scythe reproduced for Human usage. Generally flown by Vanduul with more combat experience, they are better armed and have two huge blades/wings as opposed to one on the standard Scythe.[1]

Features

Notoriety
While not as well known as the Scythe, the Glaive can easily put the same terror into others before even firing a single shot.
Trainer
The spacecraft for ideal for aggressor training operations.
Weapons
The replica has a pair of Size 5 "Wrath" Plasma cannons, a pair of Size 1 "Weak" laser cannons as well as pair of Size 4 missile hard-points (each holding a rack of four Size 2 missiles) installed.
Blades
The Glaive is probably most notable for its pair of giant retractable blades that is designed to rip its prey apart.
Stowage
It has the capability to stow up to 250K μSCU of items via an external storage unit.

Development

2015-08-07 The vehicle was originally sold during a flyable promotion sale back in 2015, limited to only 1000 in numbers.[2]
2020-06-18 The Glaive along with the rest of the Vanduul fleet were redesigned in 2019 using the design styles of the updated Kingship interior.[3]
2023-11-01 In CitizenCon 2023, CIG announced that the owners of the Vanduul ships will get the reworked version without an unspecified date.[4]

Trivia

  • The ship gets its name from a particular type of pole weapon, distinguished by a single-edged blade at its tip, known for its distinctive design and versatility in different combat situations. [5]
  • The Glaive is now obtainable through one of two methods. First, by making a pledge: upon successfully completing Vanduul Swarm in Arena Commander, your account will be granted the opportunity to purchase the ship from the RSI store during specific limited-time sales held throughout the year. Second, through referrals: accumulating 200 Recruitment Points (RP) will result in a Glaive being added to your hangar.
