Lore

The series is named in homage to the first commercially available spaceship equipped with the Quantum drive, the Zeus, built by Roberts Space Industries in 2140. The Zeus Mk II has a passing resemblance to the original Zeus, with a more angled design.

Trivia

  • Zeus, regarded as the supreme deity among the Greek pantheon, possessed a multitude of formidable powers. Among his most renowned abilities was the capacity to hurl lightning bolts. His winged steed, Pegasus, was responsible for transporting these bolts, while an eagle, trained by Zeus, was tasked with retrieving them. Additionally, he wielded control over the weather, capable of summoning rain and ferocious storms. Zeus had the unique ability to imitate the voices of others, allowing him to sound like any individual. Furthermore, he could transform his appearance, taking on the guise of either an animal or a human. When provoked, he would sometimes exact punishment by transforming individuals into animals. He also had a powerful shield called the Aegis and he resided on Mount Olympus and was wed to the goddess Hera. The ancient Greeks organized the Olympics annually as a tribute to Zeus.
